Vivian Ball is a highly recognized professional dance educator, dancer, and choreographer with over 30 years of experience in teaching dance. Originally from Lincoln, Nebraska, Vivian obtained her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Dance Education and Performance from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. Prior to graduating from UNL, she attended Stephens College in Columbia, MO, and Texas Christian University.

Vivian's exceptional talent in teaching and choreography was showcased during her tenure as a member of the dance faculty at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln from 1996 to 1997, where she specialized in ballet and jazz instruction. In 1997, she choreographed the dance and fight scenes for UNL's production of "Oklahoma!" Moreover, Vivian took great pride in leading a team of dancers from Universal Dance Academy to perform at the 1999 Federal Express Orange Bowl in Miami, FL. In 2000, they also performed at The National Championship Sugar Bowl in New Orleans, LA. Additionally, in 2003, the team returned to Miami, FL to showcase their talents at the Federal Express Bowl Game. Vivian seized the opportunity to choreograph dances for the opening and closing ceremonies during the 2010 National Special Olympics held in Lincoln, NE.

Vivian's coaching and choreography have consistently propelled numerous high school dance teams in Lincoln to receive numerous local and national awards. Each year, she has the honor of serving as a judge for cheer and dance team try-outs in Lincoln.

Noteworthy choreography and accolades include:

  • Productions of "Legally Blonde" and "Hairspray" that achieved Diamond top-overall scores, entertainment awards, and choreography accolades.

  • Tap Trio "Home" that received the prestigious "Heart Stoppers" award at the Adrenaline competition for the highest scoring dance.

  • Co-choreographed the production of "Elf" with Angela Beery, which triumphed as the National Production title winner.

Furthermore, she has received National Choreography Awards for "One More Time" (Tap Group), "Just Come Home" (Lyrical Solo), "Borrow My Heart" (Tap Duo), and "Now or Never" (Tap Duo).

Vivian's talents have also been recognized with National Championship 1st Overall dances, including captivating performances such as "Can't Touch This," "Get Up Off That Thing," "Wake Me Up," "September," "My Treasured Suit and Tie," "Shatter Me," "Trouble With My Baby," "Miss Kiss," 2x Champion "I Love Senoritas," "Borrow My Heart," "Stylin'," "All The Way," "Rest of My Life," "Unpack Your Heart," "Swing Machine," "Cloud," "Unworthy," "Earned It," and "Wait For You."

In Los Angeles, California, Vivian earned nominations for the Industry Dance Awards in the categories of "Best Tap Performance" for her choreography "Brand New" and "Best Jazz Performance" for her choreography "Under These Lights."

Vivian's students have achieved remarkable National Titles as well:

Beaudree Ball received the distinction of 2017 Male Honored Dancer at the National Dance Honors for his tap choreography, "Bring It Back” as well as winning National Mr. Spotlight

Addison Hasenpflug was named National Miss Spotlight several years over with solos choreographed by Vivian. Addison Hasenpflug most recently claimed the NRG National Prodigy Winner title and Revel Dance Top Ten for Senior Female Dancers with her contemporary choreography, "Coming Home."

Lillian Ball earned recognition as the National Miss Spotlight with her tap solo choreography, “Going On” and Female Honored Dancer Top 7 with her contemporary choreography, "Just Come Home."

Vivian's many years of acquired knowledge and experience have equipped her with the skills to teach with a profound appreciation for each student's individual needs and a deep understanding of how to help them achieve their ultimate goals. Her enthusiasm has consistently fostered personal growth and competitive success among her students over the years.

In addition to her professional pursuits, Vivian takes great pride in being a devoted mother to her four beautiful children, Jordan, Trevin, Lillian, and Beaudree. One of her recent moments of immense pride was witnessing her son, Beaudree, being named one of the "Top 5 Teen Male" dancers in the country at the National Dance Honors, where her daughter Lillian's tap choreography was also recognized.

With over 35 years of inspiring dancers in Lincoln, Vivian considers herself incredibly blessed. She eagerly looks forward to embarking on this new chapter of dance with all her students.
